After being owned by a corporation, we are proud to be a thriving community owned, not-for-profit facility. We have made several updates to the facility including a new sprinkler system, redesigned shower room, a new Apollo Whirl Pool Tub and completely redecorated Activity Room with a large screen TV. We have begun redecorating our residents rooms and have plans for many new updates in the future. Laurens Care Center is a 38 bed facility that offers both intermediate and skilled care
designed to be like home. We provide the help and care you need to make the transition back to your home when you are ready or to make us your home away from home. With our trained professional staff we provide many amenities including beauty salon, rehabilitation services, resident- selected menus, laundry service, mail services, therapy services, hospice care and housekeeping. Choosing a retirement home is one of the hardest decisions you will have to make. Nursing Services
Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants are available 24 hours a day to meet your medical and personal needs. Assistance with dressing, grooming, bathing, eating, and medication administration, as well as a host of other specialized services, are available to you from our Nursing Department. Skilled Care Service
The minimum of a three day recent hospital stay, as well as having at least one skilled care service need, such as daily therapy, is necessary to be eligible for skilled care services. Those qualifying for skilled care services can benefit by having Medicare and/or their private health insurance pay for all or part of the cost of their stay in our facility, for up to 100 days. Qualifying for Skilled Care Service is on a case by case basis so please call us with any questions and we can visit with you in detail. Therapy Services
Therapy services are available at Laurens Care Center from qualified professionals including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and restorative therapy. A team approach is used in developing a personalized plan for each individual as they work toward reaching their highest level of independent living. We are accommodated with modalities to aid in your recovery process, such as, diathermy and electrical stimulation. Dietary Services
The Dietary Department uses their skills each day to provide three well balanced meals. Snacks and an assortment of beverages are available any time of the day. Our delicious home-style meals are prepared in our own kitchen and served in our spacious dining areas. Special dietary needs are easily accommodated and prepared in accordance with your physician’s orders and under the supervision of our Licensed Dietician. Social Services
The Social Service Department has a well educated and trained staff to meet the social needs of our residents and their families. We can assist you with placement questions, financial concerns, adjustment needs, discharge plans and other items, to formulate a smooth and comfortable transition while staying with us. Transportation
Transportation to your medical appointments are provided by us at no extra cost. Our specially equipped van does accommodate wheelchairs and family is welcome to ride along to any local appointment. Hospice Service
Laurens Care Center can aid in arranging Hospice Service for our residents in need of this special care and attention. For persons facing the end of life, our staff will work with a team of specialized Hospice professionals so a person can maintain the highest quality of life, while residing with us. We work with two Hospice agencies that you can choose from and we are glad to assist with reviewing these options. Laundry Service
Our Laundry Service operates 5 days a week, so your essential and personal items are picked up, washed and returned to you very quickly.
