What IS Active Release Techniques?

If we had to guess, you've likely asked yourself that question at least once since hearing about us. So, let us introduce you to ART, the soft-tissue treatment system that is changing the game for Providers, Employers, and Patients.

The most important piece of the puzzle is ART Treatment. Simply, it's a non-invasive treatment system precisely engineered to locate and quickly resolve soft-tissue disorders. What is soft-tissue, you ask? Muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, and fascia. Common disorders that occur here include sprains, strains, overuse injuries, and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

The work we do at ART HQ serves two primary functions:

1. Train and certify healthcare providers in ART Treatment through ART Seminars across the globe.

2. Work with employers across North America to reduce OSHA recordables and workers' compensation costs through our On-site Wellness Programs.

If you're reading this, we can almost guarantee that you can benefit from having ART in your life. Check us out online to learn more about our Seminars, On-Site Wellness Programs, and even Find an ART Certified Provider near you.

After careful consideration, we have decided to open our office on Monday, June 1 because of the following:

1. Our patient demand in need for our services has been very high. Although the types of issues seen in our office are not emergencies, we do take them very seriously.
2. The point of sheltering in place was to flatten the curve so that the hospitals do not get overwhelmed. The hospitals in Southern California are not overwhelmed and we feel that the sheltering in place did its job.

If you would like to schedule please email us at info@proactivewc.com.

Or reduce the risk. Peep the evidence (or lack thereof). All the way back to 1999...

“The basic science literature supports the epidemiological evidence that stretching before exercise does not reduce the risk of injury.”

“Due to the paucity, heterogeneity and poor quality of the available studies no definitive conclusions can be drawn as to the value of stretching for reducing the risk of exercise-related injury.”

“There is not sufficient evidence to endorse or discontinue routine stretching before or after exercise to prevent injury among competitive or recreational athletes”

Don’t treat where it hurts without addressing why it hurts.

GOT BACK PAIN AND HAD AN MRI? DONT PAINIC! 😱

If you’ve had an MRI for some back pain you may have been told that you have a disc bulge, or disc degeneration, or facet joint degeneration, or an annular tear, or even spondylolithesis?

Well check yo self before you wreck yo self against this chart and see how many people of your age have the same things but with NO PAIN or symptoms!

Having the results of an MRI can be as scary as hell, but remember 90% of all back pain has a VERY FAVOURABLE natural history, and things seen on scan in those that have back pain are also seen in those that don’t have back pain.

Follow the simple advice to keep moving as best as you can and seek a good rationale evidenced based physio for some further guidance if needed!
