New office, new visitor!

Back in May, my office moved to 4954 E 56th Street, Suite 2! Amethyst Counseling is part of Dahlia Collective Collective, a group of independently practicing therapists who are dedicated to providing services to people of all genders, sexualities, religions (or lack thereof), bodies, abilities, races, employment, and immigration status. Therapy is seen as an anti-oppressive practice.

At Amethyst Counseling LLC, we value the reproductive health of our employees, clients, and community. So we’ve signed the ’s “ ” letter, joining businesses across Indiana to tell lawmakers that abortion bans are bad for business.

COVID Policy Update!

Hi everyone! Hope your holidays are going as calm as possible! Wanted to provide an update of my COVID policy updates beginning now and for the foreseeable future.

All individuals wanting in person sessions will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Booster vaccines are advised for those able to get one. I will be wearing a mask in session and have disposable masks available in office. I am also fully vaccinated with my booster received in early November 2021. I am happy to provide proof of vaccination!

Those who are unvaccinated are able to have sessions via telehealth. Telehealth is an option for all clients and in person sessions can be changed by messaging me through email or your client portal.

Good News! Amethyst Counseling is now in network with Aetna in addition to Cigna, United Healthcare, and Anthem!

Bad News: There is currently a waitlist of 1.5 to 2 months for new clients.

What to do in the meantime?? Find three images/videos/digital materials that make you at least 1% happier and save them to your phone!

It's that time of year! That's right... seasonal depression!

For some people, fall and winter are wonderful months! Many other people find themselves feeling more sad, worried, unmotivated, or sluggish. Reach out for more information about this!

In the meantime, I will be highlighting some tools to support effective coping during the seasons. The first tool I love is... COPING SKILL DICE! This is a great way to first identify healthy activities you can do when feeling down.

To make this, start off with any sort of cube! You can find wooden cubes at craft stores and even patterns to print out to make a cube out of paper. Come up with six healthy coping skills you can use. Need some help with this? Email Laura (Laura@amethystcounselingindy.com) for a printable list of coping skills seen in the image! Make the cube pretty (or not) using glue, paint, glitter, etc. Glue (or write) images/words to remind you of some of your coping skills. When you are feeling stressed and in need of some extra support, roll the dice to see what coping skill you can use!
