Kansas City has reported its first confirmed measles case in eight years, raising concern about potential spread closer to home in Lawrence. Many of our families live, work, or travel throughout the KC metro. We strongly encourage all children to stay up to date on the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine, which is routinely given at 12 months and again at 4 years of age. Vaccination is the best way to protect your child and help prevent further spread in our community.
