Thank you to The Eagle-Tribune and EMS1 for highlighting the work Lawrence General Hospital paramedics are doing to save lives throughout the Merrimack Valley through our whole blood transfusion program. As paramedic Ryan Mueller told The Eagle-Tribune, “The sooner a patient with a severe hemorrhage has blood product replaced, the better the chances are for survival ... We are cutting down on that time delay.” Read more about the program at the link:

Lawrence General, in partnership with Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, recently welcomed 12 new interns to our family medicine residency program — officially the Class of 2029!

Led by Residency Program Director Nicholas Weida, MD, these student doctors will rotate through a variety of specialties across our hospital system as they build their clinical skills over the next four years.

Now celebrating more than 30 years of excellence, the Greater Lawrence Family Medicine Residency was the first accredited community health center-sponsored family medicine residency in the country. It continues to earn national recognition for both its strong academic training and the rich cultural experiences it offers. Lawrence General remains the program’s primary teaching hospital, hosting residents for their clinical rotations.

Our newest interns come from across the country and chose Lawrence General for reasons including our community-focused mission and strong sense of belonging. As one student put it: “The diverse patient population brought me here.”

Lawrence General Hospital

Lawrence General Hospital is a private, not-for-profit hospital providing quality medical care and related services to the people of the Greater Lawrence community. Our physicians and caregivers offer treatment to all patients, regardless of their race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, veteran status, disability, and other characteristics that make our patients and employees unique.

Every member of our clinical team works to assure the level of care the Hospital provides, supporting community education and research to improve the health of the citizens of the Merrimack Valley. To the extent that they enable us to enhance our ability to deliver on our mission and expand our range of services, we work closely and collaboratively with other healthcare institutions.
