Hello everyone!
Jerrica here, writing on behalf of the Chrysalis Collective, just dropping in to say hello and share some updates, plus drop a lil wisdom on you during this busy, sometimes chaotic, time of year ;)
Firstly, thank you all so much for your patience, support, and understanding as we've transitioned business in the last four months. If you are a new client and don't know what I'm talking about, you can disregard ;), but for those of you who have been with us through the Sano - Chrysalis Collective switch over, thank you. It has been mostly smooth, and we are finding our stride as we adjust and the dust settles.
Today I wanted to share with you some thoughts I have around taking care of ourselves during times of stress, chaos, high or difficult emotions or life transitions. Basically, how do we navigate self care when sh*t hits the fan?
*Most* of us have been taught to just hunker down, sacrifice our bodies and wellbeing, put anything self care related on the shelf until we get through the big move, stressful project, emotional turmoil, etc... We say, "I just have to get through this, THEN I can relax." So, we get super focused, blinders on, and de-prioritize our wellness until we get to the other side.
What I'd like to suggest today, is that we do the opposite. Instead of de-prioritizing and lessening our self care, we increase it. We all actually book in and plan our self care (whatever this means for each of us... massage therapy, obviously - but walking, nature, reading, time alone, etc... whatever self care means for you) so that we know we'll be well nourished and supported mentally and physically, to get through whatever challenges we're facing at the moment.
The result of this is that, since our cup maintains it's fullness, we're able to sustainably show up, focus, and bring our A game. Front loading our self care makes sure we have the energy we need to address issues with clarity, focus, and creativity. It gives us energy, so that by the time we're through to the other side, we're not falling apart and empty. Maybe... we could in fact have more to give and be ready for the next challenge life brings us.
What do you consider self care? What do you do that helps you feel grounded, confident, nourished and capable? Let us know, we'd love to hear.
(P.S. My Life Coach is showing in this email. Sorry, not sorry ;) )
And of course, we'd love to be a part of your self care plan! Whether it's a Restorative Massage, Reiki, Deep Tissue Massage, or maybe Melissa's new offer, Heated Bamboo Sticks (drool), we have lots of nourishing modalities to offer you and keep you well taken care of so that you can... do this thing called Life.
Book through our site following the link below, or send us a text (or leave a voicemail) at 785 551 8878
We'd love to have you.
P.P.S. If you have feedback or suggestions for how we can improve or serve you better, please just reply to this email and let us know. We want to make sure we're offering a great experience for you!
