Community Spotlight: Candy the Crocheter 🧶
Candy turns donated yarn ends into something special. She crochets scarves and baby blankets for the Care Cupboard, creating beautiful, handmade items that bring warmth and joy to our community.

She first began bringing in scarves last year as a way to relax and give back. Since then, her creations have become a favorite among shoppers.

The kindness has even sparked more generosity. One fellow shopper was so inspired that they now bring in extra yarn ends to help keep Candy stocked and stitching.

🫶 People like Candy, and the small acts of kindness we show each other every day, are what make Lawrence such an incredible place to call home.

Meet Patricia “Tricia” Neis, APRN
Tricia grew up right here in Lawrence, graduated from Lawrence High, and earned her Master’s in Nursing from Washburn University. She is board-certified through AANP and passionate about providing whole-person care.

Tricia is especially committed to building long-term relationships that support better health over time. She is currently accepting new patients of all ages.
