My annual rebirth through fire, 🔥 such an honor each year to tend the dragon that is the traditional Japanese Anagama kiln right here at KU with a group of incredible potters. The truest prayer- months of making work, chopping wood, loading, stoking, unloading and dreaming together as one big fire family. And from the ashes, so many beautiful vessels emerged…
Our little front shop has handfuls of things I make and fire, some from this year’s anagama firing and some from other soda and gas firings. What true elemental magic medicine it is!! 🔥 🏺
