Surgical Technologist
Job description
Due to recent growth trends the Lawrence Surgery Center is seeking one motivated, dependable, and competent Surgical Technologist. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for handling the instruments, supplies and equipment before, during and after the surgical procedure. They assist the RN and Surgeon with other duties as directed such as positioning, draping, handing instruments to Surgeons as well as keeping an organized work area.
This is not an entry level position. The candidate must have an understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the Surgeon while staying constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
Surgical specialties include, but are not limited to: Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Podiatry, General Surgery, Gynecology and Pelvic Health Surgery.
Education/Experience: Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program OR recent six months Surgical Technologist experience in an operating room.

Sterile Processing Department, Lead Instrument Technician-Full Time

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our medical team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating the functions of instrument maintenance, decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization and storage.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinates the record keeping for sterilization cycles and biological monitoring of equipment.
• In conjunction with the Materials Coordinator, the Instrument Technician maintains adequate stock levels of packaging and decontamination supplies, as well as drill bits, burs, blades and hardware that is sterilized with instrument sets.
• The Instrument Technician practices safe handling of contaminated materials, and supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Lawrence Surgery Center.
• Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for surgical procedures.
FINANCIAL/SUPPLY MANAGEMENT:
• Assists the Materials Coordinator with entering purchase orders into the SIS inventory module.
• Understands the method for verifying the delivery of items and notes back orders or errors.
• Assists the Materials Coordinator with putting away stock after the order has been verified for accuracy with packing lists.
• Assists the Materials Coordinator with the review of invoices to verify the cost of items and is able to update costs in SIS when necessary.
• Verifies packing slips match with purchase orders and invoices and coordinates accounts payable for inventory items with Business Office Manager.
• Knowledge of supply charges process and assures staff are entering charges in a timely manner when needed.
• Understands and is aware of vendor substitutes when ordering supplies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certified in Central Processing.
• Completion of an appropriate technician program or previous technician experience of at least two years preferred.
• CPR certification within probationary period.

Surgical Technologist

Schedule: We have a fulltime position available. We are open Monday-Friday. No weekends, no holidays.

Education/Experience: Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program OR recent six months Surgical Technologist experience in an operating room.

We would prefer CST credentials. This is obtained by graduating from a formal program and passing a national certification examination.
