Ahhh, (almost) spring in Lawrence and that means….road construction. Iowa Street construction has begun and will continue for the foreseeable future. It may take you longer to get here or longer to leave, so please plan accordingly and allow for a few extra minutes on each end of your appointment.

Pro Tip: approaching from the south seems to be the best bet, so if you’re able to go that way, it might save you time and stress!

Yesterday we wrapped up October which is dental hygiene month. October is a time when many people are thinking about insurance for the upcoming year and making needed appointments. Are you up to date on your dental cleanings-we recommend most people be seen every 3 to 6 months? Did you know that oral health is linked to many health conditions? We have a new team member! Meet Bekah, our new Scheduling Coordinator. She will at our front desk and the first point of contact for patients. We are busy training her on all things dental (SO MUCH to learn) and know our amazing patients will love getting to know her.

Don’t worry, Kaleena, our previous Scheduling Coordinator is still with us. She moved into the Billing and Insurance Coordinator position. (Kim, who previously held this position, has left to work full time for the company she and her husband own…we wish her the best!!)

Coming soon to a dentist office near you…Lasers! This past Friday, Dr. Farmer, Laura and Cindy attended a clinical education class to finish their coursework on our new diode laser. Lasers do amazing things in dentistry: help manage tissue for crown preparations, uncover implants, treat lesions, remove fibromas, and help our hygienists reduce bacteria that hide in pockets around teeth (just to name a few). We are thrilled to start offering these new services to our patients. We should be up and running in about a month, so stay tuned for more info!
