Today, the national LGBTQ+ youth su***de lifeline is officially discontinued.

Since its launch in 2022, this vital service—funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services—has supported nearly 1.4 million crisis contacts with LGBTQ+-inclusive care. That’s 1.4 million moments of hope, safety, and life-saving support.

While this specific line is no longer active, help is still here. You can call JCMHC at 913-268-0156 or call or text 988 for free, 24/7 mental health support. For LGBTQ+ youth, trained counselors are also available at The Trevor Project—call 1-866-488-7386 or text START to 678-678.

Mental health issues can affect us all, but often times there are unique challenges that minorities face - especially for children and teenagers.
