I am sure some of you have noticed I have been absent for awhile. The last year and a half has been tough I won't lie. I kind of stepped away from my posts. I lost my mom and my sister moved away. I was in a very sad place. I did continue with my quilts for the hospital! Stay tuned for more on my update!

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you had a chance to get outside and see the eclipse yesterday. I did but then I hustled right back to my sewing room. Fun things to work on were waiting. Today's quilt is a cutie! The colors are so bright! Notice how the blue makes it pop! Kids love bright quilts. Somebody is going to get to take it home and love it!

Happy Saturday! After two days of clouds and rain the sun is out today! I have a two for one to share with you. My friend Nancy will occasionally make a quilt to donate to Marla's Pieces. She recently brought one to give me but she had actually done two! The first one is sea creatures on the front but oh my! Look at the back! She pieced it to use all of the sea print. I love how she did it and the blue print she used. The quilting mimics the flow of water. The second one is soft and sweet. It's a great pattern to use up those scraps! The backing is a favorite of mine and shows off her gorgeous quilting. A huge thank you to Nancy for sharing her talent! Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello everyone! I hope wherever you are it is sunny and warm. It isn't here but that makes for a good day for sewing. I must admit I haven't been motivated to post for awhile. I lost my mom last July. Time has kind of stood still for me. I am determined to get back to posting though. I have so many darling quilts to show you. I've been able to stay ahead on the need for quilts and that keeps me happy! The quilt I am sharing with you today is a well known pattern called a disappearing nine patch. It is always fun to see how it ends up. I love the combination of colors on this one!

How about a quilt today? This is a different way to use pinwheel blocks. Sew two together and sash them on the sides. Alternate the layout and you have a fun quilt! Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

It is hot. Too hot but not as hot as it is going to be next week. My suggestion? Stay in your quilt/sewing room! I thought I would share this oh so cute quilt today. It is so simple to make but turns out so cute. I love the yellow and turquoise. Hope you like it too!

It's exciting when you find a pattern for a quilt you love. It's even better when it is easy and quick to make. Here's an awesome pattern I discovered. I've used it numerous times and it always turns out so cute! And it uses fat quarters! How good is that??? Here's a few that we've made. Which one is your favorite?

We are into the new year already! I hope to share more of the fabulous quilt that are given to the kids in the hospital. Don't be confused. That is not a resolution but me just trying to be better! This pattern is one I found free on the internet. When you are trying to decide what to sew next remember there are tons of free quilt patterns out there. This one is called Baby Blocks. These are definitely not your traditional colors but I thought the theme print was really cute and I was lucky to have fabric to coordinate. So stay tuned..I have some great quilts to share!

Check out this cute Christmas quilt I delivered along with others yesterday. It is such a fun pattern. We've got lots of sick kids unfortunately. We're hoping they all get better soon.

See this cute little block? I found it along with a few others In a bag of some scraps someone gave me. Part of them were sewn together so I
added them together. I am going to add some borders and end up with a cute little quilt. Plus those blocks didn't go to waste!
How about this finished quilt! It is so cute for either a boy or a girl! Don't have enough fabric for the border? Just improvise!

For those who asked for the name of the pattern used in yesterday's quilt, here it is! It is called Fox River and is from Martingale. One thing I like about it is that you can make it as big or as small as you want! Ours is a bit smaller than the pattern calls for. It is quick to make and oh so sweet!
