Hot take:

Some of what we call “self care” … is emotional avoidance.

And I say that with love not judgment.

Because I’ve done it too

Buying the things
Booking the things
Doing all the things that look like self love

But never actually sitting still long enough to hear myself

Never getting to the root

Never asking:

Why am I so exhausted?
Why is my body always tense?
Why do I feel disconnected even when I rest?

Escapism keeps the nervous system spinning
