It was the perfect sunflower-season afternoon for our very first Tee Time with Tim!

Our residents laughed, putted, and sipped Arnold Palmers with our Assistant Executive Director, Tim, who brought his big heart and fun spirit to the green. Afterward, they shared advice they wish they’d known when they were younger—wisdom, laughter, and sunshine all around!

Today we said goodbye (for now!) to someone really special — our incredible Life Enrichment Coordinator, Jaylen. We had a packed house for his going-away party, and it was one of those days that hit you right in the heart. It was emotional, full of laughter, and a little tough, but mostly it was filled with love and hope for everything ahead.

Jaylen brought light, kindness, and fun into every room he entered. Whether it was prom, beach volleyball, navigating technology challenges, putting up or taking down something in a high place or simply sitting beside someone who needed a friend, he made every day a little brighter for our residents.

He’s heading home now to take a gap year and study for the MCATs before heading to med school. We have no doubt that he’s going to be amazing doctor someday— one who leads with compassion and heart.

In a world where compassion and connection make the deepest impact, Jaylen reminds us what it means to truly see people — to listen, to show up, to make others feel valued. His presence here made a difference not just because of the activities he led, but because of the way he treated every resident with dignity, warmth, and joy. We need more people like Jaylen in the world — people who lead with heart, lift others up, and remind us that connection is what matters most. If this is the kind of doctor he’ll be, the future of medicine — and humanity — is in very good hands.

If you’ve ever seen Jessica in action, you know there’s something truly special about the way she connects with others. As our speech therapist and leader of the therapy department, she doesn’t just treat symptoms—she sees people, especially those living with dementia, in a way that few can.

Her gentle approach, calming presence, and incredible communication skills make her a trusted support for both residents and staff. Watching her engage with residents, you’d think she had a sixth sense for understanding what words can’t say.

Jessica is passionate not only about helping our residents, but also about empowering families, caregivers, and professionals to better understand dementia and how to support those living with it. Her knowledge runs deep, and her heart even deeper.

Her work here speaks volumes—not just in the outcomes we see, but in the way people feel after working with her. Jessica has a gift for helping others feel seen, heard, and supported. It’s no surprise that her insight and compassion are valued by so many, both inside our community and beyond.
