Therapy Training Update 📣📣 Hope is doing AMAZING! And is quite tuckered out after her training this morning. She is able to greet people when given permission and stay in her place when not given permission. She is learning new environments is not startled by noise…although moving Christmas decorations that also play music startle her 😂😉. Her manners are much better than most human beings; I has her handler am improving on not letting her release command too soon. Evidenced by her growing trust in me. The goal to start our volunteer work is February/March. 🤞

As su***de awareness month comes to a close, here are some significant facts to keep in mind. Remember to be kind. We never know another person’s life experience. In our kindness is love, love is a healing thing. Be kind to your neighbor, be kind to strangers. That might be the thing that impacts the choice to have another tomorrow. ***deawarenessmonth ***depreventionmonth

In memoriam, we shall never forget. A moment in time we shared together as one country united indivisible. A grief everlasting for those who served, lost loved ones and watched it happen live in real time. We are one here in America, may this day remind us who we are, this U.S.A. #911

Therapy training update: Hope is doing great. Here she sits in a wait position. She is able now to wait just about as long as I need or tell her to, can tolerate loud noises and distractions, stay/wait in movement position and is getting better in busy places. As we train together, she has also become a tune to my needs on our runs together. Sensing when I need to slow down, or stop for whatever reason. Often looking up, slowing down or stopping without command, to check in on me. Our relationship as “handler” and therapy dog is becoming quite symbiotic. A critical skill for service dogs and their owners. Just a few more skills to go and Hope and I will be ready to volunteer our time and service…🤞🤞🤞

When used wisely, no is a word of limit setting, truth, and integrity. No can have a negative connotation, with yes being an expectation. Yes, if often over used. Intended for risk taking, living well and at times challenging the self, yes does not out-power no. No is best used when being taken advantage of by friends and family. Perhaps being the one who is looked to for help, or doing for. No is useful in situations of abuse either at home, work or dating, No is also useful in setting boundaries and having others gain a better sense of your limits and what to expect.
