For Immediate Release:
Lawrence County Memorial Hospital Begins Journey to Epic Electronic Medical Record System
Lawrence County Memorial Hospital is excited to announce the beginning of its transition to Epic, one of the nationâs leading electronic medical record systems. This major investment marks an important step forward for our hospital, our providers, and the communities we serve.
Epic will help improve communication, coordination of care, patient safety, and access to information across our healthcare system. Patients will also benefit from MyChart, Epicâs patient portal, which offers convenient access to appointments, test results, medications, messaging, and other important health information.
âEpic is much more than a new computer system. It is a transformational investment in the future of healthcare in Lawrence County,â said Amy Hurley, Chief Executive Officer of Lawrence County Memorial Hospital. âThis is one of the most significant projects our hospital has undertaken in many years, and it will help strengthen patient care, improve provider communication, increase efficiency, and create a better experience for our patients and staff.â
âThis is a major step forward for our community hospital,â Hurley said. âPatients expect healthcare to be connected, accessible, and easy to navigate. Epic will help us deliver on that expectation while keeping care local. We are proud to make this investment in our patients, our employees, and the future of healthcare in Lawrence County.â
âThis system will empower our patients with secure, streamlined access to their medical information, making it easier to stay connected to their care no matter where they receive services,â said Jill Karkiewicz, CIO / Chief Information Officer.
With a planned go-live date of October 18, LCMH looks forward to sharing updates as this project moves forward. This investment reflects our ongoing commitment to bringing advanced healthcare tools and technology to Lawrence County while continuing to provide trusted care close to home.
