Serving Southern Virginia since 2013, the Cancer Research and Resource Center of Southern Virginia in Lawrenceville, Virginia is located off of the State Highway 58 corridor across from the Brunswick County courthouse. We are an outreach office of VCU Massey Cancer Center and are funded by Massey and the Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission. The Cancer Research and Resource Center of Southern Virginia helps cut through the clutter and fear of a very stressful diagnosis by directing cancer patients, survivors and their networks of support on up-to-date, reliable and helpful information. People can call or stop by our welcoming office on 221 North Main Street
• Obtain sound information about cancer diagnoses, treatment options, diet and stress management;
• Find help with financial or transportation assistance and support services from peer-to-peer networks to hospice;
• Learn about the importance of knowing your family’s health/cancer history, getting regular check-ups, and adhering to cancer screening guidelines;
• Attend webinars about cancer and cancer-related topics.
• Emphasize the power of detecting and treating cancer in its early stages;
• Encourage everyone to get screened for colon cancer at the age of 50 (younger if you are at greater risk)
