January 11 is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. At Younity, education is a critical part of prevention. Our Training Specialist, Sheilagh Mescal Gunstensen, helps prepare Younity staff and community professionals to recognize early warning signs of trafficking, including manipulation, control, and coercion.

January is National Financial Wellness Month. Financial abuse is a common and often hidden form of domestic violence. It can look like controlling money, blocking access to accounts, or sabotaging someone’s ability to work or save.

At Younity, we help victim-survivors take steps toward financial independence, including through financial education and training in collaboration with Isles. Because rebuilding safety also means rebuilding stability.

In New Jersey, stalking is defined as a course of conduct — repeated, unwanted behaviors directed at a specific person that would cause fear or significant emotional distress.

Stalking isn’t about one text, one call, or one moment. It’s about patterns and their impact.
