Happy First Day of Fall!
🍁 Fall is the perfect time to build your child’s speech and language skills! Try a fun leaf hunt activity: collect leaves outside and have your child describe them using words like 'big,' 'small,' 'red,' or 'smooth.' This helps boost vocabulary, sentence building, and descriptive language in a natural, playful way.

Remember—speech practice doesn’t have to feel like work. Everyday moments can turn into opportunities for communication growth! 🍂✨

When reading together, speech-language pathologists:

Expand vocabulary by introducing new words in context

Strengthen listening and comprehension through stories and questions

Encourage sentence building and storytelling by having kids retell parts of the book

Support speech sounds by picking books with words that target tricky sounds

A simple story can open the door to BIG communication growth! 💬🌟
