Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP) is a specialized procedure performed to treat cervical dysplasia. In this procedure, a small piece of the outer cervix is removed using a thin wire loop and electric current, effectively curing dysplasia. We can address this in our office. During this visit, you will have a physical exam including a pap smear. You will also receive a confirmation ultrasound, to confirm how far along you are. Also, there will be a series of prenatal labs that will test your blood type and blood count for infections (syphilis, Hepatitis B, HIV, and Rubella).
