As the seasons change, it’s normal to feel shifts in mood, energy, and motivation. Today’s Wellness Wednesday is all about gentle tools to help you conquer seasonal depression, manage emotions, and release stress from the body.
☀️ How to Conquer Seasonal Depression
Seasonal depression (SAD) can show up as low energy, sadness, sleep changes, or lack of motivation.
Helpful tips include:
• Get natural sunlight daily (10–20 minutes helps)
• Move your body — even a 15-minute walk boosts serotonin
• Maintain consistent sleep routines
• Increase vitamin-D rich foods (salmon, eggs, eggs, fortified milk)
• Stay connected — isolation can worsen symptoms
• Schedule things that support your wellness — massage included 💆🏽♀️
✨ Massage therapy naturally increases serotonin and dopamine while lowering cortisol (stress hormone).
💛 Managing Emotions During Stressful Seasons
When emotions feel heavy:
• Pause before reacting
• Name the emotion instead of suppressing it
• Journal for 5 minutes — no editing
• Stay hydrated
• Reduce caffeine when anxiety is high
• Allow rest without guilt

🧘🏽♀️ Simple Stretches for Stress Relief
Hold each stretch 30–60 seconds with slow breathing:
• Neck side stretch
• Shoulder rolls (10 forward / 10 back)
• Chest opener stretch
• Seated spinal twist
• Forward fold
These help release tension stored in the neck, shoulders, hips, and lower back.

4–6 Breathing
Inhale 4 seconds → Exhale 6 seconds
Repeat 5–10 rounds
Box Breathing
Inhale 4 → Hold 4 → Exhale 4 → Hold 4

Two short inhales through the nose
