So important…

Becoming someone new means releasing who you used to be.

That can feel uncomfortable.
Even painful.

But grief is not a sign you’re going backwards.
It’s proof you’re expanding.

Honor the old version of you.
Then let them rest.

You’re evolving for a reason. 🌱

Self love…
Self love is the act of nurturing your mind, body, and soul. Knowing that you are worthy of love, capable of anything and beautiful beyond words. Embracing yourself just as you are and accepting each version of yourself along life’s journey.

A Quick Tip:

If you notice that your anxiety feels so much better because you’ve managed to avoid everything that makes you feel anxious; that’s not a win for you. Feeling comfortable all the time is not progress. Choosing to step into the fear that stands between you and where you want to be, that’s progress.

Self-care for Real:

True self-care isn't just indulgence (like salt baths) but building a life you love through discipline, facing problems, setting boundaries, and making choices that align with your true self, even if it's difficult or unpopular, focusing on long-term well-being over short-term escapes. Experiencing self-preservation through action, not just relaxation, meaning creating a life where you don't constantly need to escape. – Brianna Weist

Happy New Year!
Reality check…Let’s be real, circumstances will come this year, life continues to life. The difference this year should be how we respond to our unwanted circumstances. The goal can be to better respond to things rather than reacting to them. It’s usually how we respond versus the circumstances themselves that cause the most distress. Live purposefully and intentionally….Have wonderful year!

This looks so awesome! Not only will your child be the main character in the book, but it teaches emotional intelligence ❤️❤️❤️… getting to learn how to identify and understand your feelings can be life changing. Who knows, there may be some adults in our lives who could use this book as well 🤭

I heard a message a few weeks back about re-centering. It had a great analogy of how we use our GPS for directions. Once we have the directions, we tend to want to look ahead sometimes to see the route ahead of us. We watch familiar streets and landmarks scroll by as we land on and locate our final destination. This, while still listening to the audio directions to turn right in 100ft or get into the middle lane for a left turn. Only, it’s hard to see where you’re going on the map when your map is sitting on the final destination. “Wait is this 100 feet?”, “Where is the middle lane?”

It’s helpful to see in advance where we are going, but we must still pay attention to where we are at. So, what do we do? We hit that re-center to get back on track. Sometimes in life we can get so far ahead of ourselves that we lose track of our present. The people around us, our accomplishments, caring for ourselves. Re-center! Get yourself together, prepare and pay attention…be present. Also, enjoy where you are at until you get to where you are going.

Psychological benefits of volunteering – This is the perfect season to test the theory!

Volunteer activities keep people moving and thinking at the same time. It also has shown that volunteering leads to lower rates of depression and anxiety, in particular for those 65 and older.
Volunteering and other forms of altruism make us feel good. When people help others, they feel less lonely and more bonded to the community. Their bodies release dopamine and endorphins that evoke positive feelings and reduce stress. They feel more optimistic and less cynical about the world around them. People who volunteer and act altruistically even live longer.

If you are feeling down, stressed out, or going through a challenging time, volunteer work could be the answer for you. Also, volunteer work helps you keep your mind off yourself for a while. Sometimes we could use a break from ourselves!
