We all make excuses for why we sin: our upbringing, our relatives, our coworkers, our environment, our lack of resources and time, stress, trauma, health issues, etc. The real reason is declared in Jeremiah 17:9, "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" We can't understand it and we can't cure it. Fortunately, there is someone who can—the One who created us and died for us.
