Our Lawton Sunshine Center kicked off Thanksgiving with an amazing staff potluck. It got even better when two very important guests showed up… Alexander Hamilton and George Washington! They made a surprise appearance just in time to help us celebrate our Senior Office Manager, Teri, turning the big 5-0!

Little Rays is an inclusive, therapeutic program for kids ages 2-6 needing extra support with learning, social skills, and daily living skills as they prep for school.

Saturday was a full and exciting day at the Lawton, OK Sunshine Center! As our Sr. Office Manager, Teri, connected with families at a community event, the ABA team gathered for team-building and reflection. We worked together to identify our values, clarify our goals, problem-solve barriers, and commit to actions that help us deliver the highest-quality ABA possible.

Our Sr. Office Manager, Teri Harger, attended today's FCAO's Fall Festival Event in Lawton. To quote Teri:

"I had the honor of speaking with other foster, adoptive, and kinship families about the resources we offer at Sunny Days Sunshine Center. I also got to share my own story, from being a foster family to becoming an adoptive family, which is something that means a lot to me. I’m grateful for FCAO (Foster Care and Adoption Association of Oklahoma) and the incredible work they do to support families across our state. They continue to be an amazing resource for foster, adoptive, and kinship families here in Oklahoma, and I’m thankful we get to be a part of that community. 💛🧡"

🎃 A golden kind of Halloween weekend! 👵✨

Our office crew went full Golden Girls for Friday’s festivities — thank you for being a friend (with great costumes)! 💛

Then on Saturday, we traded wigs for warm hearts at Darren’s Voice Sensory-Friendly Trick or Treat, helping make Halloween fun and accessible for kids and adults with disabilities. 🧡🍬

Erin McQueen, M.Ed., BCBA, Center Director Lawton SSC, and Erin Owens, BCaBA, represented the Sunshine Center at the 4th annual OKABA conference on October 3. The conference was held on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. The Oklahoma Association for Behavior Analysis (OKABA) is the official state chapter of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI), dedicated to promoting and supporting the field of applied behavior analysis across Oklahoma.
