This week at SWMC, held our annual Chili Cook-Off. From the depths of simmering pots and secret spices, two champions emerged:

🥇 1st Place: Kari Garza, Administrator - Rumor has it, her husband may deserve an honorary award. We're still investigating whether it was a team effort or a spicy conspiracy.
🥈 2nd Place: Letha Clark, Manager, Health Information Management - If you ask for her secret ingredients, be ready to complete a release of information form. She claims her recipe is so confidential it's protected by HIPAA.

This week, we honored Tony Hyde, our incredible supervising Laboratory Medical Technologist, as he retires after decades of dedicated service to Southwestern Medical Center. This week, our incredible Radiology team got a well-deserved dose of appreciation — and sugar! Human Resources dropped by with a batch of delicious cookies to thank them for all the behind-the-scenes brilliance they bring to our care every day. From X-rays to MRIs, they help us see what others can't — and they do it with precision, professionalism, and a whole lot of heart.

Even Bones Malone, our ever-watchful resident skeleton, got in on the action. He may not say much, but we know he’s grinning from mandible to maxilla. 💀
