Hi! I’m Emily Meidell, DNP, CNM, WHNP-BC. I am one of the healthcare providers here at RMWC.
I love what I do! And, that love drives my passion for women's health. I am committed to personalized and compassionate care for every woman I care for. I believe that EVERY woman deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, and sensitivity; and, that each woman should be heard and be an integral participant in her health management. I care for women throughout their lifespan from early adolescence to senior adulthood. And because of that broad spectrum of needs and health concerns, I possess a wide range of knowledge and experience in all things woman! Providing evidenced-based care is essential in modern-day health care practices, and I am tenacious in my pursuit of professional growth to ensure that the care I provide is relevant and effective.
I have 10 years of experience in women's health, and I am a board certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. I completed both my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) and my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP) at the University of Utah graduating at the top of my class with both degrees. My passion for women's health grew out of my humanitarian work in Kenya and Ghana over the last 15 years. I run a humanitarian organization that focuses on the empowerment of girls and the promotion of women's and maternal health. By leading annual humanitarian expeditions, I share my passion with volunteers who spend time educating and serving the women of Africa.
I am originally from California, lived most of my youth on the east coast in the Washington, D.C. area, and have lived in Utah for the last 30+ years. My husband and I are the parents of 7 children, 13 grandchildren, and 1 very spoiled dog. I enjoy traveling, reading, doing anything outside or in the water, and spending time with family.
Specialties include: Adolescent Care, Family Planning/Preconception Care, Contraceptive/Birth Control Counseling, Prenatal Care/Childbirth/Postpartum Care, Annual Exams/Preventive Screenings, Depression/Anxiety, and Menopause Management.
