Your obstetric healthcare provider (OB/GYN or Certified Nurse Midwife) can write you a prescription for a breast pump. Many health insurance companies will cover the cost of an electric breast pump in each pregnancy! Take that prescription to a home health supply store and they will bill your insurance. Easy as that!

•”In term infants, it increases hemoglobin levels at birth and improves iron stores in the first several months of life, this may have favorable effects of developmental outcomes.
•It is associated with significant neonatal benefits in preterm infants, including improved transitional circulation, better red blood cell volume, decreased need for blood transfusion and lower incidence of necrotizing enterocolitis and intraventricular hemorrhage.
•Due to these benefits The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist now recommends delayed cord clamping”.

Some publications in the lay press advocate timed in*******se and diet as two of the most common methods for preimplantation s*x selection, but neither is effective. S***m separation techniques other than flow cytometry are offered by some practices but are not reliable. The preimplantation techniques for s*x selection best supported by evidence are (1) preimplantation genetic testing to select embryos of the desired s*x, followed by transfer of only those embryos, and (2) preconception s***m separation by flow cytometry (where available), followed by use of s***m with the desired s*x for in vitro fertilization with or without intracytoplasmic s***m injection or in vivo fertilization via intrauterine insemination. Make an appointment with your OBGYN to discuss these options.

Hello! I am Susan Arogyasami, one of the board certified Ob Gyn physicians at Rocky Mountain. I have been practicing in Utah since 2013 and absolutely love working here. I chose to practice obstetrics and gynecology because I believe that women who are healthy and health literate lead to families that thrive. My practice centers on not only providing care, but also making sure my patients understand their bodies and their treatment options.

I received my MD from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed my residency there. I am originally from India, but have lived in the US most of my life. I love living in Utah where my dogs and I can be on a trail within minutes of heading out the door. I enjoy traveling and have been all over the world, contributing what I can for those who struggle for access to basic medical care. When I’m not busy being a doctor, I like to pretend I’m a chef, painter or photographer.

Hi! My name is Sarah Forrest and I’m an Ob/Gyn physician at Rocky Mountain Women’s Health Center!

I am passionate about women’s health issues and providing patient-centered care. I believe that my role as your physician is to empower you through education- providing you with the information to make the decision that is best for you, your body, and your family.

I specialize in both low-risk and high-risk pregnancies. I enjoy partnering closely with women to empower them to create a birth experience that integrates their personal preferences and health needs.

I provide gynecologic healthcare for women of all ages from contraception, to preventive care, to menopause! I also provide care for those experiencing painful or heavy periods, pelvic pain, infertility, family planning, pap smears, and more! I am a gynecologic surgeon and offer minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery, such as a hysterectomy or tubal ligation.

I received my MD from Creighton University and my Masters in Public Health (in Reproductive and Sexual Health Research) at the University of London. I completed my OBGYN residency training at the University of California, Davis.

I’m originally from Brainerd, Minnesota- where the movie Fargo was filmed! I love living in Utah which is where my husband was born and raised. In my free time, I love biking, hiking, backpacking, gardening, travel, and taking my dog Jasper on walks!

Hi! I’m Emily Meidell, DNP, CNM, WHNP-BC. I am one of the healthcare providers here at RMWC.

I love what I do! And, that love drives my passion for women's health. I am committed to personalized and compassionate care for every woman I care for. I believe that EVERY woman deserves to be treated with respect, dignity, and sensitivity; and, that each woman should be heard and be an integral participant in her health management. I care for women throughout their lifespan from early adolescence to senior adulthood. And because of that broad spectrum of needs and health concerns, I possess a wide range of knowledge and experience in all things woman! Providing evidenced-based care is essential in modern-day health care practices, and I am tenacious in my pursuit of professional growth to ensure that the care I provide is relevant and effective.

I have 10 years of experience in women's health, and I am a board certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife. I completed both my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) and my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP) at the University of Utah graduating at the top of my class with both degrees. My passion for women's health grew out of my humanitarian work in Kenya and Ghana over the last 15 years. I run a humanitarian organization that focuses on the empowerment of girls and the promotion of women's and maternal health. By leading annual humanitarian expeditions, I share my passion with volunteers who spend time educating and serving the women of Africa.

I am originally from California, lived most of my youth on the east coast in the Washington, D.C. area, and have lived in Utah for the last 30+ years. My husband and I are the parents of 7 children, 13 grandchildren, and 1 very spoiled dog. I enjoy traveling, reading, doing anything outside or in the water, and spending time with family.

Specialties include: Adolescent Care, Family Planning/Preconception Care, Contraceptive/Birth Control Counseling, Prenatal Care/Childbirth/Postpartum Care, Annual Exams/Preventive Screenings, Depression/Anxiety, and Menopause Management.
