A major transformation! This photo shows a patient’s final denture with 4 implants and attached snaps. Previously, she had mini implants that failed and were removed, but now her new denture securely snaps onto the implants. Her dentist created a custom denture with a natural, slightly uneven look for a more realistic appearance. It’s easy to remove for cleaning, making maintenance a breeze. The result? A better, more secure fit than her lower teeth, and a major upgrade from her previous treatment! 🧡🩶💙

How did we go from THAT to THIS? Well, we are glad you asked!

This patient visited another office for an implant, and the gray color of the implant was visible through the gum tissue; an esthetic challenge.

Dr. Chaston performed a gum graft to thicken the tissue. After the graft no more gray is visible through the soft tissue.

A custom made gingival former was then made. We often use these to shape the gum tissue around the implant so the final crown looks more natural as it emerges from the implant.

His dentist cemented the crown on the implant, nice crown; MISSION ACCOMPLISHED 💙

After about 2 weeks, your implant site should feel almost completely normal. The gum near the implant may be a little bit tender, but you shouldn't be feeling any significant pain. You should be able to eat and brush completely normally. 💙
