She’s gone and done it! We have a new COVT in the house! (Certified Optometric Vision Therapist) RaeLynn flew to Kentucky during the conference to get board certified. Now she’s back and has requested that we all call her “COVT Rae”. We like to humor her. 😎💕👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Onward and Upward!

One of our patients’ favorite games is called “Asteroids” on the Optics Trainer. This vision therapy computer program has the technology to track even very subtle eye movements. In the game, you have to stare at the asteroids long enough that they will explode before crushing your spaceship. 🚀

By holding her eyes on one target without drifting away, she’s practicing the same skill her eyes need to move smoothly from word to word and stay in the right place on a page. 📖 When this skill gets stronger, reading usually becomes smoother, easier, and less tiring. 😊 🙌🏼

Our monthly training sessions are so helpful in keeping our skills sharp and in sharing what’s working (and sometimes what isn’t) with our patients. It’s awesome to work in a place that puts so much care into each set of eyes. 👀

This is part 1 of a small series we are going to share about how technology is changing the vision therapy world!

This gives precise, objective data instead of relying solely on clinical observation.
How it changed therapy:
