We are hiring! You don’t have to know anything about vision therapy to be a good fit for this job. You need to be interested in other people, passionate about helping them, teachable and ready to learn on the job! The field of vision therapy is really starting to grow, and it will only continue to do so.
We work with several different types of people and different symptoms. We do rehabilitative work with people who have had a concussion or TBI. We help people who are struggling with academics, especially learning to read or keep their place while reading. Some of our patients have a lazy eye (amblyopia), an eye turn (strabismus), or vision loss due to other health or medical conditions. We have recently started helping patients who specifically want help sharpening their skills with a specific sport. This is referred to as sports vision training . The past couple years we have started offering primitive reflex integration therapy. In short, we help people who have skipped developmental stages and need to go back and complete that part of their development in order for them to be able to use their brain more efficiently. Symptoms of this often looks like behavior problems, academic struggles, not being able to focus or sit still, poor emotional regulation, and so much more. This area is exploding and becoming more talked about and respected as scientific studies continue to emerge.
Basically, we see miracles every day. We welcome people into our clinic who are often times in a very dark or difficult time of life and we get to bring them hope. It is so fulfilling and an honor to be a part of their healing and/or developmental progression. We are told on a regular basis that we have changed people’s lives. We do not put Band-Aids on wounds and hope that they will heal. We literally rewire and change the brain. We go directly to the source and that’s why going to work every day is so rewarding!
