❗HEADS UP: On Wednesday, West Lowell Street will be temporarily closed between County Road 14 and Mather Street from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a mock car crash.

The crash demonstration is part of Candace Hanson's Senior Project at LeRoy-Ostrander Public School and may also involve a medical helicopter landing on the football field.

Any accident-related activity you may see during this timeframe is not real.

The LeRoy Ambulance and LeRoy Fire Departments would like to send a friendly reminder to our community. Living in a small town has many perks but also has some downfalls. When it comes to Emergency Calls our Community will witness our crew members rushing to the station, cops responding, Ambulances and Fire Trucks leaving the station with lights and sirens, this only triggers the normal response to want to know what’s going on and who is involved and we understand that. However, we have noticed a trend within the past few months where our crew members have received personal messages regarding the patients and the calls. We are asking that the people of our community respect our crew and not reach out to them personally to try to obtain any information. These calls affect each and every one of our crew members in one way or another and they do not need the added stress of navigating through multiple messages. We CANNOT and WILL NOT discuss any call information with anyone. This is not us withholding information this is the very strict HIPPA laws and regulations that we as Emts and firefighters operate under.
