Our Story
Nestled at 10,152 feet of elevation in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, St. Vincent Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital serving the rural area of Lake County and North America’s highest city of Leadville, Colorado. St. Vincent Hospital and St. Vincent Medical Clinic offer: Primary Care, Laboratory, Imaging, Physical Therapy, 24/7 Emergency Room and 24/7 Ambulance (call 911), 8 inpatient rooms, Swing Bed, Respite Care, Sleep Studies and visiting Cardiology.
In 2019, as St. Vincent Hospital celebrates 140 years of caring, we will begin construction on a new, state-of-the-art hospital. This is made possible by community and taxpayer support and a financial turnaround which is currently underway at St. Vincent General Hospital District (SVGHD).
Looking to the future, the district has embraced the concept of a health campus where specialists, primary care, Lake County Public Health Agency and other health related offices reside in the current hospital building and synergistic-ally complement services in the adjacent new hospital facility.
