Community isn’t just who’s around you—it’s what they normalize for you.

It shapes what feels acceptable, what gets minimized, and what you learn to ignore in yourself.

And over time, that influence can either help you grow in honesty and connection…
or quietly pull you away from it.

Healthy community doesn’t require you to shrink, dismiss your needs, or stay silent to keep things comfortable.

It gives you room to be real—and still belong.

Pay attention to the spaces that leave you feeling more like yourself, not less.

GIVEAWAY 🤍

We’re kicking off our first week of Mental Health Awareness Month with a focus on community—and the role it plays in supporting mental health.

This basket was built around that idea:
time together, meaningful conversation, and moments of care, community, and connection.

It includes a few things from Java Owl Coffee Shop—a space centered around care, community, and coffee—which felt like a natural fit for what this week is about.
It’s a simple reflection of something bigger: community care matters.

• tag a friends (each tag = an entry)

Community plays a bigger role in mental health than we often realize.

Not just in big ways—but in small, everyday moments.

Connection.
Shared experiences.
Space to slow down.
Opportunities to care for your body and mind.
Moments of joy.

These things don’t replace counseling—but they support it.

And this month, we’re seeing what it looks like when a community chooses to show up in those ways for others.

Over 40 local businesses are part of that story—helping make mental health care more accessible for people in our community.

This week, we’re focusing on the role community plays in mental health.

And we’re really glad you’re here for it.

$20,000.

That’s our goal for Mental Health Awareness Month.
This month exists to bring attention to something that impacts all of us—but access to care is still out of reach for so many.

At full funding, $20K provides 250+ counseling sessions for individuals and families in our community who need support but can’t afford it.

And right now, every dollar goes further—$1 becomes $1.50 thanks to donating partners.

Last year alone, we were able to provide 1,573 subsidized sessions to 291 people.

We’re aligning this month with Mental Health Awareness Month because awareness matters—but access matters more.

All month, we’ll be sharing stories, giveaways with local businesses, and simple ways to be part of this.

If this matters to you, you’re invited in.

Not every breakthrough is loud.

Sometimes healing shows up quietly:
She told her story without tears.
She noticed the triggers.
She paused before reacting.
She felt the weight of old memories, but didn’t let them control her.

Healing isn’t always dramatic. Sometimes, it’s just steady.

💡 Mental Health Awareness Month is just around the corner, and we can’t wait to share ways to normalize the journey of healing. Follow LifeTree for tips, stories, and support.

Some things feel “too small” to mention.

A comment from weeks ago.

A passing moment that made your stomach twist.
But small things aren’t always small—especially when they land on old wounds.

Therapy is about noticing what your nervous system remembers, even when your mind tries to minimize it. It’s safe to explore it. It matters.

💡 Mental Health Awareness Month is coming, and we’ve got big things in store to make mental health feel more accessible and relatable. Follow us at LifeTree to be part of the conversation.

Because behavior is communication… even when it’s messy. (Say it louder for those in the back: EVEN WHEN IT’S MESSY.)

I want to be clear—this doesn’t mean I’m saying there shouldn’t be consequences or guidance. Discipline is important. But if we only correct without getting curious, we miss a huge opportunity to understand what a child is really carrying.

As someone who works primarily with kids, I see every day how behavior is their way of telling us about their feelings, fears, and stress. The more we get curious, the more we can help them feel seen and supported.

💡 Next time your kid “overreacts,” pause and ask yourself: what is this behavior trying to tell me?

When my son was 2, I started noticing things that didn’t quite add up.

And one night in a small group, it all just came out.

The emotions.The questions.The loneliness.

If you’re in this season too, I want you to know—you don’t have to do this alone.

We’ll be sharing my full interview here on social media this weekend.

And I’m leading a parent support group starting next week, Monday nights in April. It’s a space for parents who just need to be understood.

Faith can be beautiful.

But when faith has been used to wound, coming back can feel terrifying.

Curiosity and caution can exist in the same heart.
If this story feels familiar, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to carry it alone.
