Balance and Fall Prevention🧡⚖️

Balance challenges are common with MS, but the right exercises and training can help improve stability and confidence with movement.

Physical therapy focuses on strengthening muscles that support balance, improving coordination, and practicing safe walking strategies to reduce fall risk. Training in a safe environment allows individuals to build skills that carry over into everyday life.

Better balance means greater independence and safety in daily activities.

Do you feel like you are always stretching the same areas, but you constantly feel tight?
Tight muscles are not always a flexibility problem. In many cases they are actually weak or overcompensating for other muscles that are not doing their job.
Your body creates tightness as a form of protection and stability.
Stretching can provide temporary relief, but if the underlying weakness is not addressed, the tension often returns.
Building strength improves joint support, movement patterns, and overall muscle balance. When muscles are stronger and doing their job, the body does not need to rely on that constant protective tightness.
Stretching can be helpful, but it works best alongside strength training, not instead of it.
If you keep chasing tightness with stretching alone, you may only be treating the symptoms instead of the cause.

Managing MS Fatigue🧡

Fatigue is one of the most common challenges for people living with MS, but physical therapy can help make daily activity more manageable.

Strategies like interval-based exercise, energy conservation techniques, and proper strengthening can help improve endurance without overexertion. Cooling strategies during exercise can also help manage symptoms.

Small changes in how activity is structured can make a big difference in daily energy levels.
