Devereux Texas Devereux Texas provides holistic residential treatment for youth ages 6 to 17 with autism, development disabilities, and co-occuring mental health challenges.

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health is one of the largest and most advanced behavioral healthcare organizations in the country. We have a unique model that connects the latest scientific and medical advancements to practical, effective interventions in the treatment of behavioral health. We were founded in 1912 by one the first pioneers in the field, Helena Devereux. Today, we are a national nonprofit partner for individuals, families, schools and communities, serving many of the most vulnerable members of our society in areas of Autism intellectual and developmental disabilities, specialty mental health, and child welfare.

Everyone had a jolly good time at the Friends of Devereux Christmas Appreciation Event. 🎄✨ The Friends enjoyed a fun gift exchange, shared lots of laughs, and a played a cheerful Christmas game. Congratulations to Karen Nimmo for winning the holiday game prize!

This annual gathering is special time to celebrate our incredible volunteers who give their time, talent, heart, and dedication to the youth in our Autism Intensive Residential Program all year long.

We are deeply grateful to CenterPoint Energy Foundation for their generous $5,300 grant in support of The Devereux School - the educational heart of our Autism Intensive Residential Program.

đź’™ This Holiday Season, Help Youth Like Levi Reach Their Full Potential
As we close out the year, we want to share a story that captures the heart of Devereux Texas — and the incredible difference your compassion makes.

When Levi first arrived at Devereux, his world felt overwhelming. Diagnosed with autism and ADHD, he struggled to communicate and often withdrew from others. His parents feared he might never connect or experience joy.

But with individualized care, specialized therapies, and a team that never stopped believing in him, Levi began to thrive. He learned to use a communication device, made new friends, joined group activities, and took great pride in his role on the Devereux Beautification Team.

Then came a moment his family will never forget — Levi sat with his parents for a full hour during a visit. No pacing. No outbursts. Just connection. Just hope. 💙

In honor of World Kindness Day this week, Devereux launched an organization-wide campaign – “ : Little Acts. Big Impact.” This initiative highlights the power of simple, meaningful acts of kindness shared among colleagues and the individuals and families we serve.

Throughout the week, we expressed our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible staff and our Friends of Devereux with sincere thank-yous and small tokens of appreciation. We also hosted a special outdoor gathering, sharing treats and moments of connection as we celebrated the dedication and compassion of our team.

The Friends of Devereux joined in the celebration by being on campus for All-Star Friday, where they provided ice cream to the kids—a highlight the youth always look forward to. Their visit gave us a meaningful moment to honor them and express our deep appreciation. The Friends bring kindness, joy, and unwavering support to our campus, and their impact is felt every day.
