After taking the last two weeks off of the year- I’m finally easing back into the game of business owner life. Recapping my 2025 numbers and celebrating the wins. I hope you see that all things are possible when it comes to working for yourself.Year 5 as a soloprenuer for Functional Flow Pilates- I have felt my most sure and confident self yet. Yes imposter syndrome creeps back in- but much less often. I trust myself. I know what value I provide. And I know God always provides me with the best patients, clients and members. 2025: -I worked with 24 patients/clients in helping them return to an active lifestyle-I support 20-24 Library members at any given month by providing rehab inspired online class videos -I completed 677 bookings with 98% of them being 1:1 care or trainingBonus: -I was able to take 8 weeks off. Be there for my kids for all their events. Still have the energy and time to cook for my family. -No weekends worked.- averaged 15 hours of 1:1 sessions/a week. A number that I wanted to be lower than my previous 20/week, while still bringing in more income. Which I achieved. All of this to say: THANK YOU. Thank you for everyone that has trusted me in their recovery journey. All those that cheer me on, pray for me, and take the time to notice me on social media. My focus of 2026- being our strongest yet. Stick with me to achieve your strongest most mobile self!

If you find yourself falling backwards when attempting a pistol squat - grab a weight!

I'm using 10 lbs. This weight will keep me forward as I reach out when I lower. Feeling more stable into my joints.

You can lift your heel if your ankle mobility isn't letting you go down all the way. And over time try to keep your heel down.

Plus the extra weight it's a nice extra burn on the way up!!

Had a patient struggling with their single leg work - and sure enough we added just a little extra weight - and it helped!!

Maybe it can help you too!!

Stay strong and mobile my friends!!

Christa Ordonez, PT, DPT, Pilates Instructor, FRCms

I have been a Physical Therapist since 2011, helping people recovery from surgeries and trying to avoid the need for surgeries. I have been exposed to common movement dysfunctions and patterns that inevitably lead to an injury, pain, and strain. It is a challenge to see people suffer, and also gratifying to see people overcome and take control of their body again.

My ongoing question to myself and our PT profession is, “what happens If we could teach people how to learn about their body, how it moves, and ways to make it move cleaner with less chances of injury?” Well would even need PT? Yes. There will always be a need for the post injury and surgical recovery.

BUT - there is also a population that could have benefited from PREVENTATIVE movement training. Some are feeling the early signs of tension with over activity/lack of activity. A man that loves to work out but doesn’t know that cross training his movement is needed to prevent the ‘wear & tear’. A woman busy with children and finds herself only having a harder time to keep up with the kids and stay strong enough as they get heavier with age.

That’s why I am here. To Go beyond and before the PT and Doctor visit. My background in Physical Therapy, Pilates and Mobility Training combines together to give you what your body needs.
