Our Story
For generations, W**d-Corley-Fish has been a household name in Austin. In the mid-1800s, Thurlow W**d and Jack Corley—both of whom were born into family funeral homes—founded the business on the philosophy of helping and serving their neighbors. W**d-Corley-Fish North Chapel was the firm’s first funeral home, originally located at 17th and Lavaca in Downtown Austin. This location moved to its current building on North Lamar in the early 1950s. Soon after, in the late 1960s, Jack’s son-in-law, Laurens Fish, Jr., joined the family firm. The business continued to grow over the years, with the purchase of W**d-Corley-Fish South Chapel on South Congress in 1997, as well as the construction of W**d-Corley-Fish Lake Travis in 2008. A few years later in 2012, the firm acquired W**d-Corley-Fish Leander/Cedar Park. Today, Laurens Fish III and his dedicated team continue the time-honored traditions of generations past while bringing you an expansive range of options to suit your funeral needs. We are proud members of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery service providers, offering the compassionate care you expect from the W**d-Corley-Fish family and the value you deserve.
