🍂 Thanksgiving isn’t just for stuffing… it’s for your pelvic floor too! 🍒

Did you know cranberries can help prevent UTIs and support bladder health? As pelvic floor therapists, we see so many women struggling with bladder irritation—especially around the holidays when sugary treats sneak in.

💡 Cranberry magic: Proanthocyanidins (PACs) in cranberries help keep bacteria from sticking to your bladder wall. Translation: fewer UTIs and happier pelvic floors!

🍁 Pelvic-Friendly Cranberry Sauce Recipe:

👉 12 oz fresh cranberries
👉 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
👉 1/2 cup fresh orange juice

Instructions:
1️⃣ Combine ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat
2️⃣ Cook 10–15 min until cranberries burst and sauce thickens
3️⃣ Let cool and enjoy guilt-free!

💧 Pro tip: Pair this with hydration + pelvic floor exercises for extra bladder support.

🎯 Want to make your Thanksgiving both delicious AND pelvic-friendly? Save this post, try the recipe, and share with a friend!

In the postpartum season, especially while breastfeeding, your hormones look very different from pre-pregnancy.

Estrogen often runs low, and that can show up as:
• Vaginal dryness or burning
• Sensitivity at your perineal scar
• Pain with s*x or pelvic exams
• New bladder urgency, frequency, or UTIs

This isn’t just about “tight pelvic floor muscles” – it’s also about the health of the tissue itself.

For some postpartum patients, low-dose topical vaginal estrogen (cream, tablet, or ring) can:
✅ Improve lubrication and comfort
✅ Thicken & strengthen fragile tissue
✅ Make internal PT and scar work more tolerable
✅ Support bladder health

As pelvic floor therapists, we don’t prescribe hormones – but we do look for signs of low estrogen on exam and collaborate closely with your OB/midwife/PCP when it might be helpful to discuss vaginal estrogen, even in the breastfeeding phase.

You deserve more than “it’s normal after having a baby.”
You deserve answers, options, and a plan.

Not medical advice. Always discuss risks/benefits of any hormone therapy with your own provider, especially if you are breastfeeding or have a history of hormone-sensitive conditions.

👉 diastasis check to determine what degree of separation you are experiencing and engaging your abdominal muscles
👉 initial deep core & pelvic floor exercises to help you safely progress towards your fitness goals
👉 and more!
