Teacher Spotlight: Madeleine B**g

Madeleine’s teaching invites a quieter kind of strength. Her classes invite students to slow down, soften, and experience yoga as more than movement - as culture, wisdom, and connection. We’re grateful to share space with her.

💛 Why I Teach
“Teaching has always been a place where I can share my reflections on life and how it intertwines with the divine teachings of Yoga. Yoga is not just something I study, it’s my culture… my DNA, and when I practice I can feel my ancestors speaking through me.

Alpine Hot Yoga is one of the most special spaces I’ve had the honor of teaching in. While the teachers may hold the space, the students are what create the atmosphere of lovingkindness that is needed in today’s world.”

🌊 What Class Feels Like
“My teaching style is soft and requires you to think further than just the asana. I like to incorporate Buddhist and Yogic teachings and thread the wisdom in our flow. The energy you can expect is welcoming to all bodies. My sequences are gentle, simple, and there’s room to play and feel into more organic movements.”

🌀 Who Class Is Great For
“My class is great for all levels but especially beginners. There’s something very special and deep when you simplify and slow down. If you’re looking to learn how to turn your physical practice into meditation, this is the class for you.”

🌿 Beyond the Mat
“The Yoga studio is a place where we get to unwind and put the weight of the world down for a moment. Our nervous systems are being tested in today’s world and we will prevail through more resilient and compassionate nervous systems. 60 minutes of being with community and movement can change perspectives and change lives.”

📍 Find Madeleine on the Schedule
“I’m excited for my back-to-back Monday classes. If you have the capacity to join me for a warm vinyasa at 4:30 PM and stay for Flow & Restore at 6:00 PM, you’ll leave feeling open, heated within, and ready to settle for the evening.”

If you’re craving a practice that feels meaningful, grounding, and deeply human, .bongyoga ‘s classes are a beautiful place to land.

Happy February 🤍

This is your mid-season reminder that you can start anytime. There’s no perfect moment to wait for and no version of yourself you need to become first. Whether you’re brand new, returning after time away, or simply needing a place to land, our doors are open and there’s space for you here.

Our winter schedule offers many ways to meet yourself where you are — morning and evening classes, heated and non-heated options, practices that build strength and practices that help settle the nervous system. Some days call for movement and effort. Other days call for slowing down, support, and rest. All of it belongs.

And as we move through February, with so much unfolding in the world around us, community feels more important than ever. Yoga isn’t a practice that turns us away from what’s happening — it helps us steady ourselves, soften, and stay present with care. Practicing together reminds us that we don’t have to hold everything alone.

This studio is about showing up — for yourself and for one another. When we move and breathe together, we build steadiness, compassion, and connection.

You’ll also find a few studio updates and gentle reminders this month — all shared with care and in support of our teachers, students, and shared space. More details can be found in the February newsletter.

Wherever you’re at right now, you’re welcome here.
We’re grateful to practice alongside you.

Teacher Spotlight: Juliana Marquis
🌈 "Happiness is big hair and a colorful life."

Juliana brings an intentional presence to the studio, offering classes that invite students to slow down, turn inward, and reconnect with a deeper sense of calm. We’re overjoyed to welcome her to the Alpine community!

💛 Why I Teach
“Finding strength in mind and body through meditation and yoga have brought me an inner peace that I have longed for my entire life. It is my desire to spread this contentment to others one class at a time. I hope that together we can create a better world with self realization and love for all sentient beings.”

🌀 What Class Feels Like
“I’ve always been one to move quickly through the world so it surprises me that my style of teaching is so entirely opposite. I have found ease and enjoyment through leading students through slow embodied movements in preparation for a guided meditation.
My mind moves easily through sacred places on the earth with trickling streams, warm earthen paths and desert landscapes. Sometimes flanked by sandstone cliffs and magical bodies of cool water formations.”

✨ What Inspires My Teaching
“I find great inspirations within my nightly meditations. I enjoy setting my class up so they view the sunlit mountain mural or circling like petals on a flower creating a divine energy in the center of the group.”

🍃 Who Class Is Great For
“I especially am fond of working with beginners so if you are a bit timid to come to a class reach out to me and I will welcome you with open arms and guide you in gaining all the self confidence you need to stand strong in a public yoga class.”

📍 Find Juliana on the Schedule
“Currently I have four more classes scheduled on each Thursday at noon.” Juliana is teaching Foundations of Yoga: A Beginner’s Series that explores the fundamentals of yoga in a supportive, non heated environment.
If you’ve been curious about a slower, more meditative practice - or are new to yoga and looking for a welcoming place to begin - class is a beautiful place to start.

This winter, we’re making space for new ways to practice - slower, more supportive, and thoughtfully designed to meet you where you are.

If you’ve been curious about trying something new, easing back into a routine, or simply listening a little more closely to what your body needs, these new non-heated classes are a beautiful place to begin.

▶ Chair Yoga
▸▸ MON | 1:30–2:30 PM
A gentle, fully accessible practice that uses a chair for support. This class focuses on improving flexibility, strength, balance, and relaxation in a way that feels safe and welcoming for all mobility levels. Ideal for beginners, those returning to movement, or anyone seeking a supportive and confidence-building practice.

▶ Slow Flow
▸▸ MON + WED | 12:00–1:00 PM
▸▸ FRI | 6:00–7:00 PM
An unhurried, instructional class with an emphasis on alignment, awareness, and embodied understanding. Expect slower transitions, longer holds, and mild heat-building movement without intensity. This is a great option for students who want to learn, refine, and move with intention rather than rush.

▶ Flow & Restore (formerly VinYin / YinVin)
▸▸ MON | 6:00–7:00 PM
▸▸ THU | 7:00–8:15 PM
This class begins with gentle, mindful flow and gradually transitions into restorative postures supported by props. Designed as a bridge between activity and rest, Flow & Restore helps the body unwind slowly and fully—leaving you feeling grounded, integrated, and deeply supported.

✨ All three classes are non-heated.
(No intentional heat. The room stays around 70–75°, with possible natural warmth from earlier classes.)

Whether you’re exploring something new or returning to the mat in a different way, these classes are here to support you this season.

This class is about finding steadiness and connection: balancing effort and ease, supporting overall fitness, and creating space for mental clarity and nervous-system support.

If you’ve been craving a practice that feels grounding, spacious, and deeply supportive, this is a beautiful opportunity.

Hot or not isn’t really the question. The real question is: what does your body need today?

Some days call for warmth, sweat, and a little spice. Other days call for space, support, and slowing things down. And sometimes… it changes every time you step on the mat.

That’s why we offer both heated and non-heated classes - and why our winter schedule is built with more options than ever. New classes, new times, and plenty of ways to meet yourself where you are this season.

Whether you’re craving movement, recovery, or something in between, there’s a class waiting for you.

Ready to move, groove, and let go a little?

We’re excited to offer Freestyle Flow: Mat, Music & Movement, a special workshop led by guest teacher Kerry Hinds designed to explore movement without choreography, expectations, or a plan.
In this experience, you’ll be guided into a non-choreographed, exploratory practice where your body leads the way. With music as a backdrop and minimal alignment cuing, the focus shifts from doing the shapes “right” to listening more closely to what’s already there.

Rather than following set sequences, you’ll be offered gentle, suggestive cues that invite you out of the thinking mind and into embodied awareness—creating space for curiosity, exploration, and release. What happens when movement feels less like effort and more like joy?

✨ This workshop is well-suited for students who:
• Are open to creative exploration on the mat
• Crave choice and autonomy within yoga asana
• Are seeking a deeply holistic sense of release
• Have some familiarity with basic yoga postures
