Doctor referrals are traditionally the primary source of patients for a Prosthodontist...building relationships and trust ā with no exception here. Patient presents with extensive decayed dentition, infection and retained root tips. Needless to say, years of neglect combined with parafunction and lifestyle/diet attributed to loss of function and aesthetics for this 92 yr old patient on a slew of medications. Diagnostics, treatment progression by the book (initial impressions, final impressions with custom trays & border molding and occlusal rim analysis of vertical dimension, high smile, buccal corridors, etc..) were implemented for a predictable result. Immediate dentures delivered immediately upon extractions, ridge recontouring, two implant placements in mandible for a Locator āsnap-inā implant over-denture and grafting individual sites. With that, the disease is eliminated, function and aesthetics restored and the quality of life unsurpassed.
