WW Move 2: Push-ups

Push-ups are a body weight move that can be done anywhere, and is a great way to build upper body strength. Depending on how wide you plant your hands you can work various muscle groups:
- Narrow width, directly under shoulders, will work more of triceps
- Wide width, hands well outside of the shoulders, will work deeper in the chest
- Hands slightly outside of the shoulders (between narrow & wide) will work a little bit of everything

You can switch up push-ups by having your hands on an elevated surface (like a bench), feet on an elevated surface, do them on your toes, or drop your knees to the floor for push-ups.

Try adding a few repetitions of push-ups to start and end your day. 💪

Holding a plank takes both physical strength, as well as mental strength.

When you hold a plank position focus on breathing, while also activating your quads, glutes, abs, and shoulders. 💨

Start with a short amount of time, and over time work to build the strength to hold a plank for a full 60 seconds.

It is our deepest regret to share that we have lost one of our beloved Physical Therapists, Justin Snead, who passed away on Saturday, May 4th. 💔

Justin has been an integral member, and leader of our Elite family for many years. It has brought us such joy to see the impact Justin has had on our staff and all of his patients over the years. His genuine, kind heart shined through in his work, and in personal interactions with others. He will be deeply missed by so many.

We thank you in advance for the support of our Elite family, especially Felicia, as we walk through these days and weeks to follow.

When Memorial Services are scheduled at a later day we will share that information.

WORKOUT WEDNESDAY IN MAY

Throughout the month of May each Wednesday we will highlight a different exercise that you can encourage into your day-to-day activities.

We are starting this series off with a functional, and fundamental move: Squats

We do squats all day long when we bend down to pick something up, getting up and sitting down, and more. Practicing this as an exercise will help create good habits for squatting throughout your day.

Start with maybe 5 or 10 reps and add on a few each day.

Remember to keep your chest up, abs braced, and sit down and back like you are going to sit on a chair.
