Global Birthing Home Foundation Our mission is to significantly reduce maternal and infant mortality rates in rural Haitian communities.

Global Birthing Home Foundation funds and operates Maison de Naissance, a birthing home that provides a safe and culturally appropriate center for maternal and infant health care in an impoverished and underserved region of Haiti, the poorest country in the western hemisphere. It is staffed 100% by employees from the local area, and no patient is ever refused for any reason.

Attention: We are looking to fill the Site Director position at Maison de Naissance maternal and infant health center in Torbeck, Haiti. This is a full-time, in-person, salaried position. The primary requirements are: Haitian heritage; prior health center/hospital management experience in Haiti; fluent English and Haitian Kreyol, conversational French; and an ability to work with minimal supervision. Experience in maternal health care with an emphasis on midwifery is preferred. Adaptability to changing circumstances in a challenging environment is critical, and a willingness to travel as conditions permit. This is a very preventable disease, and the precursor infection, HPV (Human Papiloma Virus) is easily detected and treated. But the best prevention is the vaccine, which is readily available. Yes, there is an HPV vaccine, which prevents an infection that often leads to cervical cancer. Cervical cancer can and should be eliminated globally.
