Cervical Polyp Removal Made Simple ✨

Many women can develop cervical polyps. The technique for removing the polyp is called a polypectomy. This procedure is done in the office and is generally painless. 🫶

The woman lies on the exam table with her legs in the stirrups, and the polyp is grasped with a surgical clamp and twisted until it is freed. The polyp is then sent for microscopic examination.🧘‍♀

The Center for Women's Health was first founded in 1978 by Dr. Herbert Hodes. Twenty years later, his daughter Dr. Traci Nauser joined the practice. They practiced together for 18 years until Dr. Hodes retired in 2016.📆

Since that time they have added nurse practitioner Kelsey Sellers, DNP, APRN. Our commitment to excellence spans generations of families in Kansas City. 🚺

Uterine leiomyomas (also called fibroids) are the most common solid pelvic tumors in women. Many women seek an alternative to hysterectomy because they desire future childbearing or wish to retain their uterus. For women who desire uterine preservation, myomectomy may be an option.🌔

Colposcopy: Simple, Precise, Life-Saving 🔬

A colposcopy is a simple procedure that allows your doctor to examine your cervix more closely. It is performed in our office and takes 10 to 15 minutes. During a colposcopy, acetic acid (vinegar) is applied to your cervix and a doctor examines your cervix with a large microscope called a colposcope. ♀️

This procedure helps identify concerns early when treatment is most effective.💪

Cervical cancer screening dramatically reduces the risk of developing cervical cancer. A Pap test or Pap smear is the most routinely used testing to look for abnormalities.
