As 2025 comes to a close, we look back on some pretty wonderful achievements. KCOI celebrated its 25th year, a testament to the forward-thinking orthopedic surgeons who turned their dream of building the region's only orthopedic specialty hospital into reality. We ended the year on an equally high note; we were recognized by Healthgrades as the #1 Hospital in Kansas for Joint Replacements. This honor speaks to the dedication and heart put forth by each one of our employees. Our employees are what makes KCOI the cream of the crop!

We are committed to continuing to be Kansas City’s leader for orthopedic care for the next 25 years and beyond. Compassionate, innovative, expert care is what we do! Comment your favorite moment from 2025 in the comments below!

At KCOI, we are always looking for ways to continue educating and training our employees. That’s why, last month during Ortho Week, we held our annual CEU event. Educational opportunities like this make our teams stronger and smarter. As the year winds down, we’re proud to keep building momentum and strengthening our team for what’s ahead.

Special thanks to Dr. Bonanni and Dr. Chernoff for sharing their expertise and thought leadership with us. Dr. Bonanni spoke about total hip arthroplasty (replacement), and Dr. Chernoff provided updates on ACL injuries and treatment!

🦃Feeling thankful that Dr. Peer serves as our hospital’s Chief Medical Officer. His leadership and dedication to our staff and all patients is second to none! Happy Thanksgiving!

Giving thanks….

to my amazing staff. i’m working late on thanksgiving eve. too many piles to walk away from. my inpatient nurses brought me a thanksgiving meal at my desk. honestly, an amazing crew.

Thanks to Kansas City’s most amazing nursing unit. I tell our clinical managers that I expect them to be the best OR, PACU, Radiology Department, Inpatient Unit, etc. in the City. And I mean it. And I believe that they really are.

Thank you to all our KCOI departments for making us Number One in Kansas!
