🏆KCOI has achieved the 2026 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ from Healthgrades. This award reflects our commitment to safe, patient-centered care and puts us in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for patient safety for the 3rd straight year! 🗣We prioritize our patients' safety and outcomes above all else. Where you're treated matters!

To determine the national leaders in patient safety, Healthgrades evaluated risk-adjusted complication and mortality rates from approximately 4,500 hospitals nationwide across 13 patient safety indicators, each representing a serious, preventable complication (in-hospital falls, bloodstream infections, and bed sores, to name a few).

Healthy movement begins with healthy habits. In recognition of National Nutrition Month, we’re highlighting the connection between nutrition, recovery, and long-term orthopaedic health.

Here are a few ways to create healthy habits not only for this month, but for life:
• Prioritize balanced meals that fuel daily activity
• Stay hydrated to support muscle and joint function
• Choose consistency over perfection

Small choices can make a meaningful difference in how your body feels and moves.

We are proud of our orthopedic surgeons, like Dr. KC Doan, who stay on top of innovative, cutting-edge procedures. Last year, Dr. Doan celebrated his 10th procedure using the BEAR® Implant and continues to utilize this advanced technology to help patients achieve better long-term outcomes.

This technology involves treating ACL injuries with a BEAR® Implant, and KCOI has several physicians who use it. The BEAR® Implant acts as a bridge to help the torn ends of the ACL heal together. New data shows that the BEAR® Implant does more than just fix an ACL. In patients 14 and older with complex knee injuries, this implant significantly reduces the risk of post-traumatic osteoarthritis 6 years after surgery, a huge step forward for long-term recovery.
