Today, we had the joy and honor of celebrating Dorothy’s 100th birthday! 💐💯 Surrounded by family, laughter, and love, Dorothy marked a century of memories, wisdom, and warmth. To make the day even sweeter, our amazing dining room staff baked a beautiful cake in her honor — a true labor of love for someone who means so much to our community💖

A huge thank you to Melanie Basham, Life Enrichment Director at Town Village of Leawood and a certified music therapist, for joining us as a guest speaker during one of our recent Dementia Support Groups.

Melanie shared incredible insights on how music can support residents with dementia—helping reduce anxiety and improve memory. One practical takeaway: try using the melody of a familiar song as a cue for daily tasks like brushing teeth or mealtimes.

Our Dementia Support Groups, held every two months, are all about equipping families with tools and ideas that make a real difference.
