💊 Do kids really need vitamins?

Most healthy kids get all the nutrients they need from a balanced diet — vitamins and supplements usually aren’t necessary. Supplements should only be used if recommended by your pediatrician, since too much can be harmful and they don’t “boost immunity” in healthy children.

🍎 Best immune support = healthy food, good sleep, activity, and vaccines.
Always talk with your child’s doctor before starting supplements.

This HealthyChildren.org article explores whether children need vitamins or supplements to support health and immunity. It explains that while a balanced diet is typically sufficient, certain kids—like picky eaters or those with limited diets—might benefit from supplements like vitamin D or m...

❄️ Winter Car Seat Safety Tips for Families! 🚗

Winter weather’s here — and so are cold mornings and bundled kiddos! But did you know bulky coats and snowsuits can make car seat harnesses unsafe? Thick jackets compress in a crash and can leave slack in the straps, increasing risk.

✔️ Dress little ones in thin, warm layers
✔️ Remove bulky coats before buckling
✔️ Once safely buckled, cover with a blanket or coat backwards
✔️ Keep hats, mittens, and cozy socks on for warmth
✔️ Pack extra blankets & hats in the car for winter outings ❄️

A few simple adjustments can help keep your child both safe and warm on the road! 💙🧣

📌 For more details on winter car seat safety, check out the AAP’s guide.

As a general rule, bulky clothing, including winter coats and snowsuits, should not be worn underneath the harness of a car seat. In a car crash, fluffy padding immediately flattens out from the force, leaving extra space under the harness. A child can then slip through the straps and be thro...

❄️ Winter Blues vs. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) ❄️

As winter sets in, it’s normal for kids and teens to feel a little lower on energy. But if your child seems sad, withdrawn, extra tired, or irritable most days, it could be more than the winter blues.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is a type of depression linked to shorter days and less sunlight. Signs may include:
• Low mood or loss of interest in activities
• Sleeping more than usual
• Low energy or trouble concentrating
• Changes in appetite

Simple steps like daily routines, outdoor time, movement, and natural light can help. If symptoms last, worsen, or affect school or daily life, your pediatrician can help guide next steps.

💙 You’re not alone — mental health is just as important as physical health.
