The ancient Hawaiian practice of “Pono” is “being at one with everything.” It means being right with yourself, right with spirit, right with others and right with everything. A health challenge often pulls us out of alignment with ourselves and our world. Join us to experience the state of balance and learn this process to
return to the harmony of your natural well-being.

Multiple Myeloma Support Group

The Kansas City Multiple Myeloma Support Group started over 25 years ago. The Kansas City group is associated with the International Myeloma Foundation (myeloma.org), which provides a variety of resources for people whose lives have been affected by myeloma. Most of the meetings will include a guest speaker, which can range from local physicians to pharmaceutical educators or other experts in myeloma related topics.

Our group meets monthly, on the third Thursday evening of each month. Our group has both virtual and in person meetings. We recommend you contact one of the leaders to determine if an upcoming meeting will be virtual through Zoom, or in person. Currently, in person meetings are held at Old Mission United Methodist Church in Fairway KS. Our standard meeting time is 7:00 pm, but in person meetings are often held at an earlier time to accommodate speakers.

In addition to monthly meetings, our group offers a private FaceBook page, which offers a space for patients and care partners to ask questions, share information and provide ongoing support between meetings.

To inquire about the group reach out to Cindy Ralston, 913-488-7422 or Wendy Thomas, 913-588-7829.

Why Meditate?
Meditation is a self-calming technique.

The stresses of everyday life can pile up on us, causing reactions and symptoms that can make it feel like it's taking over our entire bodies from head to toe. But we can retrain our brains to react to stress differently and change destructive thought patterns. Self-calming techniques are a way to stop and reverse the causes and symptoms of stress. These techniques have been shown to benefit physical and mental health, plus derail damaging trains of thought.

At Turning Point, we have several Meditation and Mindfulness classes. Take a look and start one today!

If you want to practice meditation on your own time and pace, here are 6 of our recorded meditations. Enjoy. https://soundcloud.com/turningpointkc/tracks
