It is National Handwashing Awareness Month! Winter is here, and so are the germs that spread colds, flu, and other infections. Handwashing is one of the strongest defenses we have year-round, especially in winter.
Why it matters even more in winter:
• We spend more time indoors
• Germs survive longer in cold, dry air
• Seasonal illnesses spread faster in close contact
A quick 20-second wash with soap and water can make a big difference in keeping you and your loved ones healthy this winter.
Stay warm, stay well, and keep those hands clean!

Stay Safe in Cold Weather!
It is cold weather season. Cold temperatures can be dangerous to your health. Protect yourself and your loved ones with these essential winter safety tips:
- Stay Indoors When Possible when it is Bitter Cold – Try to limit time outside, especially for children, the elderly, and those with medical conditions.
- Dress in Layers – If you have to be out wear warm, moisture-wicking clothing, and cover exposed skin to prevent frostbite.
- Heat Your Home Safely – Use space heaters with caution and never leave them unattended.
- Prepare Your Vehicle – Keep extra blankets, a flashlight, and emergency supplies in your car.
- Check on Others – Reach out to elderly neighbors and those in need.
Stay warm and stay safe!

Thanksgiving Health Tips to Keep You Feeling Your Best:
- Start with smaller portions and go back for seconds only if you’re still hungry.
- Drinking water throughout the day can help counter high sodium menu items.
- Taking a post-meal walk helps with digestion and supports healthy blood sugar levels.
- Eat a light, protein-rich breakfast to prevent overeating later.
- Wash hands regularly, especially before eating or preparing food.
- Refrigerate leftovers within 2 hours to prevent spoilage.
