Blood donation is so important! Read about Megan and Ava's story and consider scheduling a donation in memory of Ava. ๐Ÿ’œ

๐Ÿฉธ January is National Blood Donation Month!

Megan Hosmer, one of our own at Samaritan Health Services, began donating blood after her stepdaughter Ava relied on frequent transfusions during cancer treatment. Inspired by Avaโ€™s strength, Megan now donates regularly โ€” and her blood has even helped patients right here in our community after making it's way to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

๐Ÿ’ช You can make a difference too. Donating takes about an hour, can save a life and be done year round.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Find a donation site near you: https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive

Letโ€™s celebrate Jessica Conaway, RN in Med-Surg at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, as one of our January Rising Stars! ๐ŸŒŸ

When a language barrier could have made communication difficult, Jessica found a way to keep care safe and consistent. She worked with the patient and family to create a simple communication system, then documented and shared it so everyone stayed on the same page. Her quick thinking and compassion turned a challenging situation into one of trust and reassurance.

Jessica, thank you for always putting patients first! ๐Ÿ’™
