Compeer of Lebanon County

Compeer of Lebanon County We provide support to people living with mental health challenges through friendship matches, social events, trainings, and community education.

Compeer friendship matches enhance and support wellness and a sense of belonging within our community. Compeer exists for the purpose of matching caring adults in one-to-one supportive friendships with people of the same gender who are recovering from a mental illness. Compeer provides comprehensive training, helps with selecting a friendship connection and offers ongoing support every step of the way. "If you care, you qualify!"

Compeer of Lebanon County first opened its doors in May 1999; today it provides 4 main programs to the citizens of Lebanon County. They include the main Compeer friendship program; CompeerCorps, which is specific to military veterans; the youth mentoring program; and support group services. In addition, Compeer offers free social events that clients and volunteers can attend each month, as well as a monthly veteran breakfast at Heiseyโ€™s Diner that is free to all veterans! Compeer of Lebanon County is dedicated to helping its clients in Lebanon County on their journey to mental health recovery through friendship, support, and community! January's icy grip and snowy weather couldn't dampen our enthusiasm. We were fully engaged in table events, training sessions, our inaugural friendship match of the year, and festive social gatherings. It's still possible to add a new friend to your list of resolutions. Contact Compeer to discuss volunteer opportunities. We extend our gratitude to our valued partners in friendship: United Way, Juniper Village, and SARC!

CompeerCORPS jingled its way through today's Coffee & Camaraderie event, and we are thankful for the veterans who participated in this festive gathering despite the blustery weather. The event promoted a sense of community among fellow service members. Our gratitude extends to Lebanon Federal Credit Union for sponsoring this event. We also appreciate the piano and caroling accompaniment provided by Becky Duke and John Moyer. To obtain more information about CompeerCORPS programs, please call Julie at 717-272-8317. ๐ŸŽ…๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿš‚

Happy Anniversary to us! Itโ€™s been an unforgettable year of camaraderie and support since Warrior Women, a female veteranโ€™s group hosted by CompeerCORPS, has had its first lunch. We are thrilled to announce that we had our largest group and look forward to continued growth! Special thanks this month to St. Lukeโ€™s Church, John Moyer for sponsoring, the Gin Mill for our delicious spaghetti dinner, and Jen, Jen and Clover, our new friends from UDS. Clover and her sloppy kisses was definitely a hit with all of us!
