How are you holding up now that the Sun has come out?! 🌝

Week 4 for the went awesome. And for the first time we got to go behind the emergency departments at both L&M and Backus 😳😁

It took a bit of discussing it with my compadre in arms Dino Tudisca (he’s the one making the wooden hearts I have the pleasure of nailing up for people each week), but we decided on the nursing homes dealing with the highest number of COVID-19 patients in our local area. The first to respond received the meals since they have an expiration date on them and we don’t want them to go to waste.

After we made that decision and received the first responder meals from Uncle D’s Blazin BBQ for the week, we checked out the CDC document that listed the health care facilities in CT, I was able to make contact with the Glastonbury Heath Care Center, which has 105 beds and 105 COVID patients.

Talk about stressed out, can you imagine?! I can’t. It’s stress from every single angle of life, from what the patients are going through, to how susceptible they are themselves, to how to avoid giving it to loved ones closest to them...

No thank you, they are local hero’s on the front line at a whole other level ❤️

We ended up with 40 meals/power pails to both L&M and Backus which is about as much as they can handle in one drop off between who it feeds and how much fridge space is available...

And another 27 to Glastonbury’s Health Center

I am so grateful that I can help where I can and that I have so many unbelievable people jumping on board and supporting the that we are carrying out. 😷

There is so much more to do and so much more needed. But every little bit helps and it makes a difference. 🙏

Friday, As a community we delivered 107 meals for the second week in a row 💪

This isn’t a “me” endeavor this is a community focused “we” endeavor. Everyone supporting this message has a heart of gold and is named below and tagged if I have the ability to do so 🥳

My hat goes off to each of you, thank you for allowing me to cook and deliver these meals to our front line, I wouldn’t be able to do it without you 😊
