Allworth Veterans’ Home is already changing the perception of Veterans' Homes across the nation. Organized around the idea of an intentional community or neighborhood, this new veterans' home will offer residents a way to maximize normal living environments and routines, provides autonomy, a sense of community, and quality of life. The communities consist of three houses per neighborhood and each house will accommodate up to 14 residents. The houses are accessible and adaptive, designed for ease of movement and features open kitchens, dining areas where family style meals are served, a living room with a fire place, private bedrooms and baths. The Campus will provide space for 154 individuals who require long-term skilled nursing care as well as rehabilitation services in a true home-like setting with routine activities and social interaction that decreases social isolation. The Home sits on 12 acres adjacent to the Samaritan Health Sciences Campus in Lebanon.

Governor Tina Kotek has proclaimed September 7–13, 2025, as Oregon Veteran Su***de Prevention Awareness Week.

This observance is a reminder of the invisible wounds many veterans carry, the importance of seeking and offering support, and our shared responsibility to create a culture of care.

Veterans and their families have 24/7 access to confidential support through the Veterans Crisis Line by:

• Dialing 988 and pressing 1
• Chatting online at veteranscrisisline.net
• Texting 838255

Together, we can ensure Oregon’s veterans know that help is available, recovery is possible, and their service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

ODVA is also committed to helping veterans and their families find support, hope and connection through our website BeyondTheMilitaryUniform.com — Oregon’s hub for veteran su***de prevention resources.

The site offers tools for self-care, crisis planning, and meaningful connections, along with a comprehensive directory of mental health support. Every veteran’s journey is unique, and this resource is built to meet those diverse needs.

Veteran Residents were treated to a day of deep sea fishing last week, out of Depoe Bay with Dockside Charters. This is the 2nd summer we have enjoyed trips with Dockside Charters and they have been nothing short of amazing to our Vets and staff! We enjoyed calm seas and sunshine, limited out on rockfish for the group, and even took home some crab! We have more trips scheduled throughout the summer so stay tuned for more fishing reports!

We hope everyone had an amazing Independence Day! Here at the Oregon Veterans' Home of Lebanon, the staff put on our annual Freedom Fest which consisted of FOUR amazing bands this year. The "Tuesday String Band", "Wildflowers and Whiskey", Jacquie Roar, and Jim Asleson entertained our Veteran Residents, family, friends and staff all day! Special thanks to Mid Valley Production for assisting with the "tech and talent"! Also thank you to our delicious food trucks, "Hooked on Food" and "Sweets on the Streets" for spending your day feeding our Veteran Residents! It is an honor and a pleasure to serve our nation's heroes every day, but especially on Independence Day when we get a whole day to celebrate our freedoms and the sacrifices these great men and women made. We love our Vets!

It's that time of year again! Veterans enjoyed an outing to the Albany Pistol and Rifle Club recently where they got to shoot their shot with the support of the Linn County Sheriffs. Sheriff Michelle Duncan was joined by members of the range team who assisted OVHL Veterans. We can't wait for our next shoot with them in September! Thank you Linn County Sheriffs!
